Gaming as a Multi-Layered Security Threat

GEMS is a Horizon Europe funded project aimed at curbing the spread of extremism within the diverse world of gaming. This three-year project (2023-2026), led by a cross-sectoral team of experts, focuses on offering meaningful solutions to the urgent challenge of extremist recruitment in the gaming ecosystem.

Core Initiatives

GEMS operates on the understanding that radicalisation in gaming is a two-step process, moving from online multiplayer grooming to private channel recruitment. To counter this, GEMS develops the Watchtower Platform for identifying and interrupting grooming instances, and fosters the ENgaGE network(European Network Against Gaming Related Extremism) to unite experts and consistently monitor and remove extremist threats within the gaming community.
